Ordering System - Superlative Printing

Sp_ordering_app_2

Firefly recently completed work on a web-based ordering application for Superlative Printing. Superlative Printing is a Stoughton-based print broker whose clients include area hospitals and financial organizations.

When these organizations run low on medical or administrative forms they phone Superlative for replenishment. The new browser-based system enhances the ordering process by allowing Superlative Printings' clients the ability to easily view and order the forms they need.

The 5-Step Process to Building Web-Based Solutions

One of my goals for this blog is to better inform potentially new clients as to how things get done here at Firefly Technologies. So, with that in mind I created a new category title "FAQs". And as you probably already guessed I'll post about some of my most frequently asked questions there.

So, first up is: "What is your process"?

Firefly Technologies follows a 5-Step process in building web-based solutions.

Phase One - Strategy & Planning
In this phase meeting(s) are conducted to learn about your business, ascertain your objectives and determine the appropriate web technology that’s best suited to help you meet them.

Phase Two - Design
This phase concentrates on crafting the technical and content architectures as well as the look and feel renderings. This phase is partly driven by aesthetics and partly by logic and reason.

Phase Three - Development
In this phase the solution is built based on the technical and create specifications laid out in the previous steps.

Phase Four - Deployment
After exhaustive testing. The web solutions is launch.

Phase Five - Dail-In
This phase monitors the performance of your solution and provides adjustments as needed to maintain prime performance.

Starting a Small Business Group

I'd like to start a small business group within the Boston area. The focus of the group will be to discuss anything related to owning and operating a small business, including but not limited to challenges/solutions, best practices, technologies, etc. I'd like to keep the group small at first, maybe less than 10 members and have a variety of different, non-competing businesses represented. Members must be the actual business owners and I'd like the group to meet once every two weeks for 1-2 hours, preferably after business hours. If you're interesting in joining please contact me. Welcome to the new Firefly Blog

To be honest it's my second go-around. I tried blogging a few years ago, but due to time constrains of running my web company, Firefly Technologies, I wasn't able to give the blog the attention it deserved.

My goals for this blog is to join-in and when possible add to the conversation of how businesses can effectively leverage the web to improve and grow their businesses. And from more of a self-promotional perspective, as a web marketing strategy to improve visibility and rankings within the search engines for my website and my clients' websites.
